NICHOD
NICHOD is a flagship program of National Young Academy of Nepal (NAYAN) and Pokhara University Research Centre (PURC) launched in 2022 and annually organized in collaboration with different supporting partner institutions. It is a national level competition of research students to present their research findings to the general audience in three minutes. The NICHOD competition is inspired from 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition initiated by the University of Queensland, Australia where graduate (master and PhD) students present their research in the minutes annually. In Nepal, NICHOD has been extended to undergraduate students in addition to the graduate students. NICHOD encourages and trains students to effectively explain their research findings among the audience beyond their subject domain in three minutes. With the main motto “Research for Social Impact”, NICHOD aims to bridge the gap between scientists and the community while developing students’ skills in academic research, presentation, and communication. Further details are available at https://www.youngacademynepal.org.np/nichod-overview.
