CALL FOR COLLABORATION

Pokhara University Research Center invites Government agencies, Higher Education and Research Institutes, Industries, National and International Development Agencies and Communities at the national and international level to collaborate and contribute together to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

PURC is actively collaborating with various institutions.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nepal

PU has been actively collaborating with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nepal in the various development agendas. PU and UNDP Nepal (https://www.undp.org/nepal) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a long-term and active partnership, particularly in the six key agendas.

  1. Collaborate to establish central research facility (the global standard advanced research laboratories) and Center of excellence for higher degree research and education related to SDGs.
  2. Collaborate to initiate professional Master and Doctoral level programs addressing SDGs targets.
  3. Facilitate exchange of professors, administration staffs and students for capacity enhancement trainings/workshops.
  4. Support research and innovation activities through research grants and fellowships to professors, researchers, and students with particular focus on Leave No One Behind (LNOB).
  5. Facilitate partnership with national and international academia, research, and humanitarian agencies to work together for achievement of SDGS in Nepal.
  6. Collaborate to promote gender equality, diversity and prevent all forms of discrimination.

PURC has successfully conducted following research projects in collaboration of the UNDP Nepal.

  1. Assessment of Socio-economic Vulnerability of Marginalized and Excluded Women in Waling Municipality, Putalibazar Municipality and Beni Municipality of Gandaki Province (2021).
  2. Impact assessment of the emergency and humanitarian cash-based intervention support to marginalized and excluded women in Sudurpaschim, Madhesh and Gandaki province of Nepal (2023).

Gandaki Province Academy of Science and Technology (GPAST)

PURC and GPAST, Pokhara (https://gpast.gandaki.gov.np/) have signed MOU to collaborate in the joint research and outreach activities of mutual scientific and research interests including:

  1. Research collaboration in the areas of shared interest.
  2. Exchange of academic resources and research facilities.
  3. Exchange of research experts and researchers.
  4. Develop policy recommendations and awareness, creating documents.
  5. Produce dissemination materials on topics of mutual interest.
  6. Organize joint conventions, seminars, workshops, and conferences.

National Young Academy of Nepal (NaYAN)

PURC and NaYAN, Kathmandu (https://www.youngacademynepal.org.np/) have signed MOU and collaborating in the joint research and outreach priority areas of NaYAN and PURC including:

  1. Research collaboration in the areas of mutual interest
  2. Exchange of academic materials which are made available by both parties
  3. Exchange of members of both parties
  4. Develop policy recommendations and awareness creating documents
  5. Produce dissemination materials on topics of mutual interest
  6. Organize joint conventions, seminars, workshops, and conferences

Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN)

Pokhara University and NREN, Kathmandu (https://www.nren.net.np/) have signed MOU to collaborate in the area of high-speed research and education network. NREN provides high-speed research and education network connection to the colleges and institutions through APAN (Asia Pacific Advanced Network), Internet2 (US Advanced R&E networks), TEIN (Trans-Eurasia Information Network)/ Europe’s DANTE (Delivery of Advanced Network Technology to Europe) GÉANT2, AI3 (Asian Internet Interconnection Initiatives)/WIDE project Japan. PURC is collaborating with NREN to strengthen Research and Education Network in Pokhara University.

NREN has following primary objectives

  1. Establish a high-speed research and education network for the development of national computational grid for research and education.
  2. Connect universities, colleges and research institutions into a national research and education network and encourage to harness benefits of advanced R&E network.
  3. Promote advanced research in networking technologies and the development of high-performance broadband applications.
  4. Undertake necessary facilitation for the development of an advanced networking environment among research and education (R&E) communities in the Asia Pacific Region through APAN.
  5. Bridge the resources constraints contexts by providing infrastructure support as well as connectivity solution for knowledge and information.
  6. Test and implement different network technology and application aiming to reduce emergent issues of nation and the global community.
  7. Establish NREN as a knowledge center to support good ICT initiatives.

Anka Analytica

PURC and Anka Analytica, Australia (https://www.ankaanalytica.com/) have signed MOU and collaborating in the joint research and outreach priority areas of NaYAN and PURC including:

This MOU aims to state the parties’ intentions in collaborating in the joint research and outreach activity. The Parties have mutual scientific and research interests and will collaborate in performing the activities stated below:

  1. Research collaboration in the areas of shared interest.
  2. Exchange of academic resources and research facilities.
  3. Exchange of research experts and researchers.
  4. Develop policy recommendations and awareness, creating documents.
  5. Produce dissemination materials on topics of mutual interest.
  6. Organize joint conventions, seminars, workshops, and conferences.

Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG)

Pokhara University and IIPHG, Gujrat, India (https://iiphg.edu.in/) have signed MOU to promote collaboration in academic and research activities of mutual interest. PURC is collaborating with IIPHG through NCD Advocacy and Research Collaboration Centre (NCDArc). NCDArc primarily focuses on promoting research and responses to non-communicable diseases in low, middle and high-income countries through research, public engagement and teaching (https://iiphg.edu.in/ncdarc/).
