The Department of Public Health Program under the School of Health and Allied Sciences (SHAS), Faculty of Health Sciences, Pokhara University, successfully organized a seminar on “Community Engagement for Global Health Research on 11th July, 2026. The event brought together students, faculty members, researchers and public health professionals to explore the critical role of community engagement in advancing global health research.
The seminar featured an inspiring keynote address by Dr. Bipin Adhikari (Oxford University), who highlighted the importance of meaningful community participation in strengthening public health research and improving health outcomes.
An interactive panel discussion followed, featuring distinguished international experts: Dr. Sanjay Acharya (University of California, USA), Dr. Sanjeev Man Bijukchhe (University of Oxford, UK), Dr. Tan Patpong (Mahidol University, Thailand), and Dr. Linus Henke (Germany/Model Hospital, Kathmandu). The panel shared their experiences, research insights, and global perspectives, fostering a stimulating exchange of ideas on community-engaged research.
