The Student Welfare and extracurricular activities directorate is established on 18^th August 2021 in Pokhara University according to the University Act. The directorate is responsible to address the general, national and international issues of the students. With the growing number of students in the constituent campus, and to address the prevailing problems among the students, the university felt the need of student welfare and extracurricular activities so that the body can assist and cooperate with the university authorities.

The student welfare and extracurricular directorate ensures healthy, joyful, educative and playful environment for the students in the University, by encouraging the students to participate in various academic and co-curricular activities. the University ensures that the best possible environment exists for all students, irrespective of their socio-economics class.

To be a center of excellence in the provision of Student’s Welfare Extra Curricular Activities Services.

MISSION

To be steadfast in the provision of all student’s welfare services to the students in order to facilitate smooth running of the university academic Programs.

OBJECTIVES

The student welfare and extracurricular activities directorate is functioning in the following areas.

1. To plan and prepare the yearly calendar related to student welfare and extracurricular activities.
2. To organize trainings, seminars and workshop for the students related to student welfare, sports and other activities.
3. To recommend for the financial help to those students who are differently abled, financially weak and also to those who need assistance in medical treatment.
4. To help and to participate the sports and other competitions held in Pokhara, regional, national and international level.
5. To coordinate with central student’s wings.
6. To work as a secretarial for the student welfare.
7. To provide trainers, coaches and also to prepare a team in different activities related to student welfare and extracurricular activities.
8. To establish the relationship with foreign universities or international sports organizers and also arrange for mutual sports and student exchange programs.
9. To facilitate the students in sports in different dimensions.
10. To assist the university in reforming the policies regarding scholarships to be awarded by the university.
11. To manage the student’s union election effectively.
