Pokhara University Joins National Discourse on Internationalizing Higher Education

Pokhara University participated in the national discourse program titled “Nepal’s Readiness for Internationalizing Higher Education”, jointly organized by Study in Nepal and Tribhuvan University. Held on 9 April 2026 in Kathmandu, the program aimed to initiate a national dialogue on positioning Nepal as an emerging destination for international higher education and strengthening institutional readiness for global academic collaboration.

The event brought together academicians, policymakers, university leaders, and education stakeholders from across the country. Representing Pokhara University, the Executive Director of the Curriculum Development Center (CDC), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rabindra Ghimire presented the University’s perspective on strategies to attract foreign students to Nepal. The presentation was delivered on behalf of the International Relations Center of Pokhara University, highlighting the institution’s initiatives to admit international students and its commitment to fostering global academic partnerships.

This discourse provided Pokhara University with a platform to share its viewpoints on Nepal’s readiness, challenges, and strategic pathways for advancing the internationalization of the country’s higher education sector.
