On March 23, Pokhara University had the honor of welcoming Professor Dr. Sabita Maharjan, a distinguished full professor at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, Norway, and a senior research scientist.
Professor Maharjan was warmly received by the Assoc. Prof. Er. Buddhi Raj Joshi, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology. She also had a brief interaction with Prof. Dr. Bed Raj K.C., Vice Chancellor of Pokhara University. Following the welcome, Professor Maharjan engaged in an interactive discussion with representatives of Pokhara University, including the deans of various faculties, executive directors, school directors, and professors from various faculties. The dialogue focused on exploring avenues for collaboration and joint research activities between the two universities.
During the session, she delivered a short presentation highlighting her research in energy informatics and artificial intelligence, sparking meaningful exchanges on potential interdisciplinary cooperation. Afterward, she toured the university, visiting the schools and the teaching hospital of Pokhara University. Later in the evening, Professor Maharjan conducted an interactive presentation for students of the Master of Public Health, Master in Health Informatics, and PhD scholars in Health Sciences. Her talk emphasized the interconnection between the health sector and energy informatics, offering valuable insights into how technological innovation can support advancements in public health.
