The School of Engineering (SoE) at Pokhara University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global Cybersecurity Community Forum (GCCF) to foster collaboration in cybersecurity education, research, and capacity building. The agreement aims to strengthen academic–industry partnerships and enhance cybersecurity awareness and professional development among students and faculty.
The MoU was formally signed by Er. Rajendra Aryal, Coordinator – Internship Placement Counselling of the School of Engineering, Pokhara University, representing the university, and Er. Kumar Pudasaini, Founder of GCCF, representing the Global Cybersecurity Community Forum.

The event featured insightful presentations from both organizations. Er. Kumar Pudasaini delivered an effective presentation on cybersecurity threats and the current cybersecurity challenges in Nepal, highlighting the growing need for awareness, skilled professionals, and collaborative initiatives to strengthen the country’s cyber resilience.
Similarly, Naomi Yoshizawa, Director of Global Member Relations and Director of W3C Japan, presented an overview of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and emphasized the importance of joining global platforms that enable knowledge exchange, standardization, and international collaboration in technology development. During their visit, the delegates also held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Bed Raj KC, Vice Chancellor of Pokhara University. The meeting focused on exchanging ideas on academic collaboration and exploring future opportunities for joint initiatives in technology education, cybersecurity research, and global engagement.
The program began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Deepanjal Shrestha, Executive Director of International Relations at Pokhara University. In his address, he highlighted the significance of strengthening ties between academia and industry, emphasizing that such partnerships play a crucial role in preparing students for emerging technological challenges and fostering innovation.

The event was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Rajib Pokhrel and other Assistant Professors from the School of Engineering, along with administrative staff members. Mr. Amrit Bagale, administrative staff of IRC, facilitated the necessary arrangements for the visiting delegates, with support from Er. Sandip Adhikari, ensuring the successful coordination of the program.
According to the MoU, both institutions will collaborate on organizing seminars, workshops, training programs, cybersecurity boot camps, research activities, and mentorship opportunities. The partnership will also promote student engagement in global cybersecurity forums, encourage the formation of student cybersecurity communities, and support initiatives aimed at building a safer and more resilient digital ecosystem. This collaboration marks an important step toward strengthening cybersecurity education and international cooperation, creating new opportunities for students, faculty, and professionals to engage with global experts and emerging technologies.
