Pokhara University Signs MoU with Hainan University, China to Strengthen Academic Cooperation

Pokhara University and Hainan University formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 22. The agreement builds upon existing cooperation between the two institutions and outlines extensive and comprehensive initiatives to leverage shared resources for mutual growth.

Under the MoU, the universities will jointly establish academic programs, including but not limited to:

  • 2+2 Dual-Degree Undergraduate Program
  • 1+2+1 Dual-Degree Undergraduate Program
  • 3+1+2 Two-Degree Program (Undergraduate and Master’s)

In addition to degree programs, the partnership will encompass collaborative research, talent cultivation in professional fields, and broader areas of cooperation such as faculty exchanges, student mobility, and joint academic projects.

The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Wu Chao, Director of the Asia Climate Action Fund and International Cooperation Representative of Hainan University, along with Mr. Samrat Gauchan, Director of the Global Climate Action Center, who served as mediator representing Hainan University. Representatives from Pokhara University included Assoc. Prof Dr. Deepanjal Shrestha, Executive Director of International Relations Center, Assoc. Prof Dr. Rabindra Ghimire, Executive Director of Curriculum Development Center, Assoc. Prof Dr. Niranjan Shrestha, Executive Director of Research Center and Assoc. Prof. Er. Prakash Bahadur Adhikari, Chief of Planning and Program Division.
