Pokhara University (PU) and Handong Global University (HGU) have resumed the expansion of their relationship by conducting a formal program. Pokhara University agrees to join the network of universities of UNITWIN (University Twinning and Networking) on Capacity Building of Sustainable Development in Developing Countries for which Handong Global University (HGU) is the host university.
Vice Chancellor of Pokhara University, Professor Dr. Prem Narayan Aryal signed the document on behalf of PU and Handong Global University President, Dr. Soon Heung Chang signed the document on behalf of HGU.
As part of the agreement, Pokhara University and HGU wish to enhance relations between the two universities and to develop academic and cultural exchange programs in the areas of education, research, and other activities, and agree to cooperate and work together towards the internationalization of higher education and the goal of the UNITWIN Programme.
The areas of cooperation include any programs offered at either university which are felt to be desirable and feasible for the development and strengthening of cooperative relationships between the two institutions and helpful for UNITWIN Programme. However, any specific programs shall be subject to mutual consent, availability of funds, and approval of each university. Such programs may include:
a. Exchange of faculty members
b. Exchange of students
c. Joint research projects
d. Joint degree programs
The terms of such mutual assistance and cooperation shall be discussed and agreed upon in writing by the appropriate responsible officers of both parties prior to the initiation of any particular program or activity.
This agreement shall be effective upon approval by both parties and shall remain in effect for five years, provided, however, that it may be extended by mutual agreement expressed by a written memorandum of understanding.
On this occasion from the side of PU, Dr. Deepak Bahadur Bhandari, Registrar; Dr. Umesh Singh Yadav, Executive Director of International Relations Centre; Dr. Dipak Raj Poudel, Chief of Planning and Program Division; Mr. Lok Prasad Dhakal, Information Officer and from the side of HGU Professor Younsik Han, Executive Director, GTEC and Prof. Keeseon Yoo, Dean, Faculty of Global Management and leadership at HGU was also present. The program was facilitated by Ravi Bhandari, The signing ceremony was conducted through a zoom meeting.
