This Memorandum of Understanding between Pokhara University located in Pokhara, Nepal and Shinawatra University located in Pathum thani, Thailand, is made with the objective of facilitating mutual friendship, academic research and educational co-operation. Purpose of this Agreement This general agreement will provide a general and common framework for any further agreements that will be made on specific forms of mutual collaboration. Different Activities of Mutual Co-operation in order to promote the co-operation these two institutions may undertake various activities such as those listed below. The details of the co-operation will be specified through separate negotiations.
- Management of academic and research administration in various programs of study
- Promotion of credit mobility between the two institutes in accordance with the total number of credits earned by a student registered in required courses. Those transferred credits shall be recognized by the the institute a student transfers to. Hence, each institute shall specify the principles and details of credit transfer based on appropriate academic quality and standards.
- Human resources development for both institutes by exchanging and accumulating training in skills, experience and knowlege of various types and levels,
- Exchange of students and internships
- Exchange of information and publications
- Student recruitment
- Joint program, research projects, including conferences, meetings, study trips, and project consultancy; each case to be discussed separately,
- Cultural exchange program and logistic services,
- Other Activities mutually agreed upon by these two institutions.
The MOU was signed by Prof. Dr. Voradej Chandarasorn, President, on behalf of Shinawatra University Thailand and Prof. Khagendra Prasad Bhattarai, Vice Chancellor on behalf of Pokhara University on 1st October 2012. Witness by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Bunchapattanasakda, Dean, School of Management on behalf of Shinawatra University Thailand and Dr. Manbahadur KC, Registrar, on behalf of Pokhara University.
